• Highway MPG: From 18 to 31

A while ago i checked my mileage on the way home from school one time. It its a 145 mile trip.

I got 18mpg.........and that was driving conservatively on the highway.

This sunday i did plugs, PCV valve, Fuel Filter, and an oil change to synthetic.

Checked my mileage on the way up here tonight........

30.92 mpg...... :D

And thats doin 70mph w/ cruise control on.

Im so happy.

dang! I can get like 230 on just barely over half a tank, maybe like 5/8 tank. Maybe I shouldnt mod my car to hell, gas mileage is a definite plus....then again, speed is cooler

it's okay to mod your car and still get good gas mileage. I have your typical mods, and I get 33mpg on the highway.

james, 12sec, as highly modded as his is, gets like 27 city

i was gettin like 230 a tank before i did the tuneup. i think it was either the fuel filter or the pcv valve. the pcv valve wasnt stuck, but it was sticky sounding inside. the fuel filter was corroded on the outside a bit, so i dont know.

all i know is now im happy as ****. this tuneup is gonna pay for itself in like 2 trips.

james was sayin he gets like 33mpg highway.

but he's all ported and polished, so the airflow is better, and the car will run better.

Didn't he also do a whole bunch of weight reduction stuff too? That weight reduction is a huge factor in gas mileage.

I get 16-19 mpg pure city driving.
29 mpg +/-1 on pure interstate
Somewhere in between when I mix it up.

Intake and exhaust will more than likely increase your mileage.

You guys have to consider 3 cases: 1:All CITY
2:City/Highway 3:All HIGHWAY. Heres the results of what I got.
1:200 miles per tank
2:230-260 mpt
3:300-340mpt
It really makes a big difference when your driving long distances, big time.

I got around 230 before I put on the whisper lid. Believe it or not, I went to 275 last night. I didn't expect that big of a difference.
