  • A/C and Lines Removal, Need Help!

My compressor itself is completely dead is just taking up space in the engine compartment so I decided that I want to take it off b/c it's not helping anything on there now. How hard is it to take the compressor off, how do I removed the A/C lines and that canister on the passenger side of the engine bay and the lines running to and from it, and what size pulley would I need to use after the compressor is gone? Somebody mentioned in a previous post that you could just run a string around all the pulleys that you were using (all of them except the A/C compressor pulley and the useless one between it and the alternator) and that would give you an exact length (i assume I would do this with the tensioner currently in its same position now with a stock belt on so that when i put the shorter one on around only those pulleys it would tighten to its current position) I really need to get this done so please help! My AIM screenname is cboneyuga if anyone wants to talk to me in detail on there. Thanx again!

Just went and got a 610K6 Belt and rerouted past the a/c and that other pulley (not alternator, useless pulley) and its running great. Took a minute or two to get on, needed some muscling, but it's on nice and tight and the tensioner holds it from coming loose at all. Very pleased and seems to rev a tiny bit easier.
