What internals are in a 3.4L from a 2001 monte carlo

Is there any difference in these motors?
I know one is FWD and that stuff, but like on the inside is there any difference?

im assuming you mean the 3400? (cause you have a 3.4) - the 3400 is 100% different on the top end.

the block is still cast iron. crank/rods are similar, but the pistons are different. exhaust manifolds WILL NOT work.

and the cam is less aggressive than the 3.4 RWD.

They came w/a 3400???? Must have been a change. In my 99 GP owners manual, available engines were the 3100, 3800 & the SC 3800.

That motor was at 75 bucks! Then in a few hours it jumped to $250 so I didn't buy it.
If it was only 75 bucks tho, I was gonna pick it up just to have a 3.4 laying around lol. I know it isn't a direct swap, but pistons/rods/**** like that ya know.

the rods / crank / block are all identical to the 3.4 RWD.

the pistons have a larger dish, if you dont use the heads you end up lowering your CR.

the heads dont just bolt up unless you do minor modifications (trust me i know...been there done that already) -- as for the rest..well..you have to use the accy from the 3.4 RWD, and you have to turn the plenum around, as well as SHAVE THE NUMBERS OFF THE TOP. there is no room for the engine in the car with the 3400 on the top of that plenum.
