Having a bad day and got stranded when my car wouldn't stay running. Quick background. For the past 4 monthes the only way I could start my car was with the remote start feature from my alarm. My security light would come on and stay on while driving. Did a search and all signs pointed to the vats wire on the ignition lock prob. Just let it go since I could bypass that with the remote start. Yesterday my car would shut off, but the ignition would not turn to lock to let me remove the key. Went to work today and the key came out. Tried to leave to go home and my car will not stay running. It will start with the remote start but once i put the key in to the on position and step on the brake, the car shuts off. If i turn the key to ACC i get no power. I'm not sure if I need to replace the ignition switch or the lock cylinder. Or something else. Any help would be appreciated.
