well
as some of you remember i thought i was having a problem with my alternator

the car was dying occasionaly (once a week maybe)
and sometimes it wouldnt start but everything goes around alt turns ok just no start up

i was sure it was electrical it seemed to drop the voltmeter in the dash whenever it happened when it would just cut off

well i took it and had it checked and the alts fine and so is the battery

the guys at the garage think maybe the fuel pump but they cant be sure as it wouldnt start once and then it was fine again everytime after

the only thing is when it wont start i can hear the pump (or what i think is the pump... that whistle noise)as if its working (not that im saying there maybe nothing wrong with it)

the only thing i have heard from back there that has ever made me wonder is sometimes at low revs or idle ive heard a clicking back there

im thinking maybe a relay switching on and off fast

the guys at the garage dont want to try yo fix it as they cant be sure its the pump or not as its fine again but they worry ill break down somewhere when whatever goes actually goes for good

has anyone else ever had this or even heard of this happening?

Take it to the dealer. The garage says they "think" what could be wrong, the dealer will say it "is" whats wrong.
I know it'll cost some more money to get it scanned from a dealer, but believe me, it's worth it!

Don't you live in Big Stone Gap? I would take it to Daugherty Brothers and get their opinion on it.

when ur car dies does it start right back up again ?

yes the car seems to start straight up again if its cut off while driving
but if its playing up when i come back it wont start for a few tries and then if i leave it its fine

thats a good point andy ill try and take it down around the weekend and see whats going on
