  • Turn signal switch question...

My turn signals no longer work, although the flashers still work. Everything else checks out (bulbs, etc.) so I am going to assume it is the signal stalk (and inside switch) that has failed. Has anyone replaced this? Do I need to remove the steering wheel to access it? Thanks for any help.

before you do this, have you switched out the flasher relay under the dash? you cant visually check this. I have had two short out on me in two years.
When was the last time you saw a V-6 Mustang sit and smoke both 285mm Tires?

what is the indicator doing? staying solid and not flashing? generaly a switch failure will result in no bulb activity on one side or the other. a bad flasher will result in the bulb lighting up but not blinking. Turn signal faults are rare.

No, it is not staying solid or flashing on one side, it is simply not working period. They only work when the emergency/caution flasher switch is pulled.

I have not checked the relay under the dash though, were exactly is it located?
