i went to the dyno on saturday and my 96 m5 3.8 only put out 167/109 hp/tq i thought that the torque was kinda low. now i already did the search and figured out how i need to hook it up next time but does the ingition thing really screw up the torque reading that bad i was expecting a lot higher on that side of things.

109 is really low. I think my Saturn has more torque than that.

It could have been operator error.

its a new setup jake, i wouldn't trust it :\

maybe next time we have a dyno day, they might have more accurate runs going

If it was a dynojet, and they went WOT on your dyno pull, it is correct!

Dynojets, although they don't get good readings at idle without changing the settings, do get perfect eradings at WOT, by hooking up the machine like you would on any other car. trust me on this one, I ran a Dynojet for over a year at my last job, and only did F-bodies and Vettes 98% of the time.

Did your HP and TQ curves cross at 5250 rpm??

Ahh! Well, tell them no need to change the settings in their PC from how they'd dyno an LS1 or Stang (just hook the same old lead to any plug wire, and then ground the other on the strut mount). Also, don't worry about the screen when it shows your RPM's jumping everywhere at idle. When you go WOT, it'll all be right as rain, I promise!

When I've dynoed I needed all the shops to hook up 2 seperate wrires to the spark plug wire to get an accurate tach reading.

109 tq is not normal for your 3.8
