  • No power on top!! Please Help!!

I have a 02 3.8 w/ several mods. I recently noticed my car losing power, heavily. In fact about 3500-4000 rpms, it stopps pushing. I took it into a dealership and they told me that the #4 plug and wire were bad, so they replaced them, but theres still no power. I clened my air filter, and recently replaced my fuel filter. My car has run 15.1s and i dont think i could hit 16s right now. Please help!!

i bet this happened right after you got the 18 inch rims, those rape top-end. basicly, your car doesnt have the power to push those bigger rims. not exactly where it kicks in but the rev limiter might be messed up

No it still accerates past 3500 rpms. My car just still feels like its at 3500 rpms when im aproaching 4500 rpms. And i'd had my 18's on it for a while b4 it started doing this.

Check for exhaust leaks at the header flange, my car did the exact same thing.

Sorry, the header flange? Is that where the header and y pipe joint?

Ok, well...... Hmmm.... This is really basic here. The flange is the flat surface on the header where the header meets the head. If you didn't torque down the nuts and bolts holding it down properly, it can and will leak. If you didn't put the gasket in place correctly, it will leak. Take the car to an exhaust shop and have them check for leaks.
