  • Problem when starting car and...

When i start my car its as if the car accelarates and goes to about 1200-1300 rpm and then quickly drops back to 1000rpm or so (normal idle) and also when im drving and i accelerate and then let go, its as if the car stuters a little bit then slows down, anyone have a clue?

Well. As for the start up, I really wouldn't worry about that.

The part with the RPM's staying up for a bit after letting off the gas. I belive thats a problem caused my the IAT sensor. My car now and then will stay reved up for a bit when I put the clutch in. I'm going to replace the sensor next spring if it keeps doing it.

I had a similar problem, I am not that good with mechanics but lemme explain what i did to stop it. It was a cacuum hose that was loose. It was the little plug type thing that is in front of the manifold. It has a plug with 2 hoses going out. It kept popping up, making my car rev high. Try pushing it down, also make sure it isnt torn (mine was) if it is, go to a GM store and order the part.. i think it was about $12 or so. Good Luck!

It could be your fuel regulator.
