Is there a better technique in changing spark plugs?
Is there a better technique in changing spark plugs?
I'm sure this has been discussed before but I can't seem to do mine. I have fat hands and forearms. Is there another way.
Are there techniques that you guys uses? Tools that you recommend.
I've changed plugs and wires on C4 and C5 corvettes, Mitsubishi truck, honda civic, Santa Fe, and 3rd Firebird V6 and V8. But I can't do it on my 98 Bird. What the heck man.
get like an inch extention, a swivel attachment, and an actual 5/8 spark plug socket (w/ the rubber insert in it).
easiest technique i found. dont try to jam everything in at once. some you have to put the socket on first, then the attachment, then the ratchet or extention, and vise virsa. took me an hour and a half my first time. wasnt TOO bad, but def. a PITA
I also have big hands, so I use a box/open end wrench on the hex of the spark plug socket to break them loose. It works great. Try it, you will see what I mean. It is easier that trying to get the rachet on or the swivel and the rest of the frustrating extensions.
