  • Hood Release Help PLZ

My Hood Release handle broke from the wire inside the car. It broke dead even with the end of the metal rod connected to the handle. I can't see the wire through the rubber sheath. How can I get my hood open to remove the hatch. Please help me :(

Sounds like time to get a Dremmel, and cut the sheath...tear the dash apart so that you can get to the wire, and try it that way.

Without seeing what you are seeing, it's kinda hard to suggest. :(

Personally, I'd tear the dash apart, and start to look down the wire for a place that you can get ahold of it with Vice grips or something.

      Good Luck!

Another thought, may not be any easier, is usually you can eventually get to the hood latch mechanism from under the car. (they're made to be reachable in case the cable ever breaks).

You will have to raise the front end enough to get under there with it. You may have to remove a plastic panel. And you'll probably need a light to shine up in there. When you can see the hood latch, pull the same part that the cable is connected to and the hood will unlatch.
