  • weird a/c problem

my air conditioner is having some weird problem happening. I can turn it on and everything will work fine, not very cold but i can still feel a temp difference. But when I start driving, the compressor quits and the radiator fan turns off too and it blows hot air. Is it just low on refrigerant? It's not as cold as it used to be. If I turn on the a/c and don't move the car, the compressor and radiator fan work normally. I was thinking it was an electrical short or relay. I replaced one of the relays, but problem still exists. Can anyone please help me? it was about 100 degrees today and my car is black, so you can imagine how hot it was inside.

The A/C on our cars have a switch that prevents it's self from frezzing up. I talked to the lead tech the other day about the A/C as mine is just not as cold as I'd prefer it to be.

Is this only with the A/C on MAX? If so, the car will cycle the A/C on and off as to not freeze. If it's not there....well Im at a total loss.

    Hope that can "kinda" help.

it doesn't matter if it is on max or not. And it won't work long enough to freeze up, it's not near cold enough to do that either. Thanks for relplying though! Anybody else have any ideas?

I'm having the same problem, but i have brought it to the local Chevy Dealership. They say that it was a pressure sensor, so i replaced that, and it still didnt fix it. Its funny though, after my A/C Cuts off, after like 5 minutes I will turn it back on, and it works fine..But then my Engine starts running alittle hotter then normal..HELP
