• God D*mnit! Help me guys

k guys, i have now had the plugs, wires, coils, and icm replaced, but i am still getting heavy misfires about 2500 rpms. What else could it be? is it possible that my fuel filter is causing this? i really dont know much about engines, so any help is greatly apprieciated.

    thx guys
I guess I\'d have answer your question with another question.

How many Abidiginals do you see in modeling??????

headers, 3inch magnaflow cat, Loudmouth
99 Midnight Blue Firebird
3.8L A4

Do you know if it is random misfires, or if they are on specific cylinders?

dude, 3 and 6 are on the same coil, so check that coil pack again. or better yet, switch the 3 and 6 pack with the 2 and 5 pack, and see if the misfire goes to the 2 and 5 plugs.

just dont mix up the wires.

i know you had them replaced.

              try switching them.

it just doesnt seem like a coincedence that one coil is giving you the problems.

switch the coils, and check it out.

If you had the work done at the dealership, and it did'nt fix the problem, take it back. I'm sure you paid enough for the service to do it right.

                  Maybe the fuel injectors?
But, I would go back to the dealership and start *****in'. You probably paid a good bit of hard earned money, so let them do their part now.

i took it back to the dealer today after school.
i didnt pay jack for new plugs, wires, coils, and ICM, becuase the mechanic had told me that they had been bad for quite some time. This pissed me, and my parents off as i have only put about 3100 miles on the car since we bought it. therefore my mom yelled at them and them agreed that there should be no charge.

Ask him (or do yourself) to check your cylinder compression. Check for vaacum leaks. Check for clogged cat.

Are you sure you get it only at 2500? How does it sound at idle? How is it like when around 5k rpm?

Did the dealership fix the problem?

i get it under load at around 2000-2500 rpms. it sounds, and feels normal at idle. really havnt been able to get it up to 5k rpms due to the extreme amount of misfires.

they are going to start working on it again tomorrow morning. i got outta class pretty late today so they didnt have time to even look at it.

there are also camshaft and crankshaft sensors that could be at fault, but I highly doubt it. Change your fuel filter anyway, not gonna hurt anything.

But I bet that it's that coil.
