  • Power windows slow

    Hi again,

Another problem I have is that both power windows take a long time to roll up. I've had this problem for a while now and have gotton use to it. My buddy noticed it and *****ed me out for not fixing it. The driver side will even stop sometimes like it ran out of energy. Now this sounds silly but I would have to shut the car off a wait then it would finish rolling up. I thought it may be the motor but both windows are slow. And there is no way to roll up both at the same time. It will try but take forever. I have to roll up one at a time. Please help

Dudes.. Mine did that to me about 2 years ago and it was the motor... It burned up and eventualy will stop working the window.. But because my Bird is convertible I haven't rolled down the windows since... It looks better top down windows up...and it's safer that way too...hehhehehee

I thought of the motor but it's been slow for the last 2-3 years. Maybe more. And with both going about the same speed if I try to roll them up at the same time make me think that there is something else going on. Maybe something electrical upstream. I just don't know what. It seems like there isn't enought power to do both windows at the same time.

I just got mine fixed at the dealer.

            $414

Bumper to bumper warranty brought that down to only $100. The windows go up and down a lot quicker now, and it steals less power now.

Take the door panels off and grease the window tracks. It work'd fer me ;)
My windows would go up real slow, so I took a chance and greased the tracks, and they were like new again.

                here, try this:

or you could try what my friend had done

he got his hooked up to the battery (thourgh the alarm). What it does that if you have your windows down and you putting the alarm it closes the windows automatically and they work a bit faster.

I`m thinking of putting that on mine, too

Before you tear the door panel off, check the switch first. I had a window not go into motion on me once, so I jumped the connectors on the back of the switch to verify it. I bought a new switch at the GM dealer for $11.
