  • Holes In Gas Tank Performance Loss?

From what I understand, our gas tanks use a "closed system", as when you take the gas cap off to add fuel, you hear the sound of the tank being pressurized.

My question is this, if you have holes in the tank, and it "depresurizes" the tank, would this cause performance loss?

** The holes are in the top of the tank caused from screws ** :(

I dont think so....the fuel pump should take care of everything

hole in tank will only make SES light come on with OBD-II vehicles, no performance loss.

Fuel pump provides volume, fuel pressure regulator (and the diameter of fuel lines) provide pressure by restricting the flow of this volume. like putting your thumb over the end of a garden hose.

I had holes in my gas tank from tryin to mount my amp on the back flat spot, dumb idea. But i ran my car with the holes for a while, except for the gas fumes in the car there was no performance loss. I had my holes fixed since then tho
