Anybody know what the minimum temperature is for the PCM to go into closed loop is on the 99+ cars? I know the thermostat is 180*, but I'm wondering if a 170* thermostat would be cool enough to make it go in and out of closed loop. Thanks.

If you can find a 170 anywhere, let me know... That would be the perfect one for me. The 180 is ok, and the 160 is a little too cool. Does the 1999 Camaro have a 180 or 195 degree thermostat? Here's the p/n for a 170* thermo 10220957. It's about $4.00 from gmpartsdirect.com.
Magnus, I didn't think it was that low. Do you know if it's higher in a 3.4, because I put a 180 thermostat in my 3.4 when I had it, and the gas mileage went way down, and I assumed it was because the thermostat was keeping below the closed-loop temperature.
