  • abs inop

    on my 94 camaro when starting it up the abs inop light stays on. after a few minutes i'll shut off the car then restart and then the abs inop light goes off and stays off. anybody w/the same problem, any help would be appreciated.

    I have heard a few things cause it...

    the one that got me, was my alternator was going. When your car is charging low it will cut power to the ABS system, so go check out your battery/alternator wire connections if you have a multimeter check if they are charging well.


    Other problems i have seen is 3rd brake light being burnt out causing the light to go off(wierd) so check out all your brake lights.

    Lastly could be a wheel sensor, not sure if there is a way to test it try a search on "wheel sensor" or wait and see if someone pops in with some info on it.

      Always remember to check the colission light when the abs inop light comes on. ;)
