Which oil do you guys think is the best kind to use, and why?

I like Castrol myself. Mobil and others cause my Oil pressure to drop to much. My old shop teacher loved Castrol and he just got all his students love it too. While he was my teacher he had a 95 mustang v6, no biggy. After I left HS that summer he bought a GT500 for his class to fix up. They built it from the ground up and had one hell of a time. they made it a show car. I so wanted to be back in HS for that :(White 98 Camaro with t-tops leather and Y87. use regular old valvoline.. 10W-30.. it's good for year round here..
don't use mobil 1 because I get leaks with it.. just always used valvoline.. so I continue to do so.. not really sure why I started using it one day way back when.. just used it ever since..-Brad
98 Firebird - gone from mod mode to keep it running and useable mode.

Here's my personal preferences (I don't claim to be an expert):
I've used nothing but Mobil 1 in my cars and motorcycles for many years. I break them in on Castrol dino oil.
I like the feeling of security. Synthetic lubricates better at high and low temps and at startup. But I think the type of oil you use has little effect on engine wear, provided it meets manufacturers specs. More important are:
1. Short trips that don't warm up the car fully are hard on the car. I have a beater for going one mile to the store and back.
2. Changing the oil and filter as specified by the manufacturer.
3. Using a protective air filter. I think paper filters are the most protective. I think anyone who uses an air filter with big pores covered in oil and worries about the type of crankcase oil they use is fooling themself.

do you guys do your own oil changes?? I get my oil changes from Chevron, used to be Merchant's in Sterling. I dont' think they want me to give them my own oil. I agree 100%. Plus I don't trust my car in the hands of another person. Only if I must will I let someone touch me car and I will always be on the side watching. I wont even take it to get washed. Those school/team car washes scare the hell out of me. All it take is one stupid kid to drop the spunge once and pick up some little rocks with it and start washing your car. Good bye clear coat. use whatever you like, i use valvoline 10w-30, however i think im going to start using Valvoline Max Life following the suggestions of a board member on another site.
if you change the oil every 3000 any oil will be ok in my opinion

I use castrol. Only time that I ever had a leak was when I had a cracked oil filter. My car does burn a little oil though. I can smell it every now and then.
