i am using castrol 20W - 50. Is that alright. it is rarely cold in texas.

5W-30 or 10W-30, no thicker than 10W-40.
You need nothing more than 10W-30 for all year protection, and yes there is a such thing as too thick and too thin of an oil.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

Whoa, I would never use 20-50 unless I burning oil. Just use 10-30. 20-50 is to thick for the tolerences built in the motor.

yesterday i noticed on the filler cap it says "use 10W-30." why where you using 20-50? any special reasons?6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.Comment
