• Hard Starting

I have hard start with 94 3,4v6 Camaro
at mornings. I had same issue with 96 Firebird also. Some mornings it starts fine. I have done pretty much all checks for the engine and I have no idea what could be wrong anymore. Once you get it started in morning it will work fine until next morning.

How about some more info, such as what it actually does?

Well, it wont start even if you cranck battery empty. If you turn ign off and try again it may catch. At third time it will start for sure. This happens usually on cold wet weather. There is no clear conditions for this "phenomenon". Other mornings are worse than others - but the problem only appears at mornings??.....weird.....

Something similar happens to me. Check the topic "Car starts hardly" in this same General Tech forum

I got some possible reasons from Haynes manual(0-18):
"Engine hard to start when cold:
1. Battery discharged or low.
2. Fuel not reaching the fuel injectors. Check the fuel filter and lines.
3. Defective spark plugs.
4. Intake manifold vacuum leaks. Make sure all mounting bolts/nuts are tight and all vacuum hoses connected to the manifold are attached properly and in good condition."

4. checked with Bosch tester: No O2 in exhaust gas

So are you saying it's turning over, just not firing?

Yep. I have made some checking with those things. If it would have been matter of bad connections I would have solved the problem year ago. Neither is the problem in my ing wires or battery.

I would check to make sure it's getting a spark by grounding a plug wire (or several) and looking for a spark when it's doing this. If there's spark, then it must be a fuel problem, so then you have to make sure there's pressure and the injectors are working.

If there's spark problems then check the ignition system working your way from the plugs back to the ingnition module. Maybe it's the coils or the ignition module.

If it's fuel then you have to check all that stuff
