grab a rag and take the cap off of the fuel rail on the passenger side. it looks like a valve stem cap from your tire. put the rag over the top and push the little pin down with a screw driver. its gonna be a little messy but its the only way i can think of. thats how i do it.

If you're just relieving the pressure, use the Schrader valve.

You can also remove the relay for the fuel pump and run the car a couple times till it dies. That'll use up more of the fuel in the lines.

when I was replacing intake gaskets in my 91 we had to get the rail out. It kept leaking while we were trying to work. Took the gas tank cap off and the pressure in the lines dropped and the line stopped leaking.

Yep, gas cap off, then the schraeder valve.

use the schraeder valve if you ever run out of gas and get vacuum lock in fuel rail.

not a huge amount, but it'll spray pretty good. hence the rag over top of the valve. just keep the valve down till it stops spraying.

It won't spray a whole lot, and it'll only last for about half a second. Like they said, just put a rag over to catch what does squirt out. ;)

I use my fuel pressure guage to release the pressure on the system. It screws onto the schrader valve and has a release button and a drain off hose so I have no mess in the engine bay. Just a thought if you don't want the mess and it is also a little bit safer than having a gas soaked rag in there.
