• 3.4L owners with a chip please come in....

have you guys noticed and significant difference with a chip, I know it works better if your car is modded but I assume my car is modded enough for one.

I have always been sort of skepitical and not really in the mood to go blow$200-300 for a chip that gives me 3 hp. And seems an OBDI computer is not as interactive with a car so it may nto be as effective.

Also what do you use Jet Chip Stage II?

also any good sites to get one cheap for a 94 3.4L M5?

thanks in advance, funny I generally answer the what kind of gains questions not ask them.

Which chip are you talking about?

I had the ADS Superchip module that did nothing but turn the fans on earlier. Not worth the $125 it cost IMHO.

I am mainly thinking opf Jet VHip Stage II, you know how they advertise 20-30HP, which means it may be good for 7-12 hp, but I am even skepitical of that, jsut curuiosu how other people have expereinced chips.

I have the Jet Stage 2 chip. Tho I have not dyno'd the car I have notice a significant increase in my seat-of-the-pants-dyno. I turned off my chip for emissions last week and my wife had the car (collective gasp) and she expressed her concern that the car felt "sluggish."

Funny you mentioned this, I just posted about this on another thread. For performance improvements check out:

My posts are near the bottom of the thread as of today.

I would go with the stage II chip for sure, though I am not sure if your performance improvements would be the same (OBD I vs OBD II)

Personally I'd spend the money else where.

hey eric, i have a jet stage 2 chip for my car. i didn't really notice much of a difference to be honest, but i was able to get it brand new for like $135. let me know if you want it, i'm sure you can get one there too for about the same price. btw, i got it from a performance shop in sarasota so you may need to drive 2 hours to get it.

I was thining the same thing, thats why I have never done it I felt the same way about pulleys, and was right they are not worth what they cost new, but I got mine $60, including a new, belt which my car needed, so I bought them of a guy used.

Predator bird $135? I would drive to Sarasota for a discount I am going to research this out a little more before I jump into it though.

yeah just let me know, i can give you the phone number and directions. just make sure you have the part # and all the info about it b/c he's not a Jet dealer so he has to call around for it. i think i got the chip and thermostat for like 150 total. i also had to put a deposit down on it so i'm sure you will have to do the same. i'm going home on tues night (5th) and coming back on wed. if you wanted i could either pay the deposit for you or pick it up if you ordered it.
