  • Question about 150 mph gauge cluster please help

I was told the speedo and everything would be correct except the odometer reading of course and the tach would only read 75% of the actual rpm. Someone said that they swapped the resistor or something from the v8 cluster and put it in place of the v6 resistor, i believe resistor, and the tach was 100% correct, is this true? Is there any way to make the tach read 100%? If the tach was only reading 75% would this actually affect anything? If i went to a dyno would the dyno sheet tell the actual rpm of where the car peaks at or would it only tell where the rpm goes up to which would be only 75% of the true rpm? If i get my pcm programmed for the shift points and the tach only read 75% of the actual rpm would the car shift in the right place? or would it shift wrong because the tach isnt reading 100% true rpm? please help thanks
