Ok I was driving to school the other day and noticed that when I was accelerate pretty hard there was a bumping noise. I took it to my transmission guy because I thought it was the rear end but he knew right away that it was the engine misfiring. There are never any flashing codes or anything and it misfires only under heavy load. I have a 2001 with 48k miles on it and I just put in new ngk tr55 plugs about 2 months ago. I am doin wires next but do you guys think it could be them or something else. I really have no idea as to what causes misfires so if anybody can help me I'd greatly apreciate it.

Yea please let me know how things turn out. I have new plugs and I just ordered taylor spiro wires because I was going to upgrade them anyway so I might as well do them now and see if it's the problem. Must be the season. So far I've replaced the fuel filter, plugs, wires, and coils. Its still studdering/misfiring under accel. So I know how ya feel.1991 Z28 - Black L98 350 A4.<br /><br />1999 Firebird - Silver 3800 M5.Comment

I'm retarded lol...I decided to check all the plug boots to make sure they were all on and low and behold one of the boots ws basically off of the plug. It was on but you could just touch it and it would come out all the way. All I did was put it back on and everything is perfect again.
