im in the iddle of changing my oil right now and my oil filter is deciding to be an a$$ to me. the damn thing wont come off. are there any tricks i can do to get this off? i had the dealership change my oil last time and i think they over tightened it was to much. any help would be greatly appreciated.

psshhhh, You are doing it the sucker way. Take a screw driver, hammer and poke a hole in the filter. With the SD inside the filter turn it counter clockwise off. Had to do this for my Xterra from the factory. Stupid dill-holes didn't use any oil on the gasket and it melted to the engine. Had to use a razor to cut away the old gasket. What fun :D

Use a huuugge pliars if you have one. That's what I used to get my oil filter off the first time I changed my oil on my car.
The no oil on the gasket thing must be a dealer/oil change place thing. the screwdriver method doesn't work w/cheapo filters. it will ust slice thru the thin wall metal :mad: . Keep this in mind. Also, the same filter can be used on 2.8-4.3 V6's :D maybe even an e*ght cylinder. but who wants those :rolleyes: ;)
