  • BAD SQEEK. Help!

Yesterday my back right tire start sqeeking horribly.. Its like 'sqeek, sqeek, sqeek' it was faint yesterday. But today i was driving and it got louder and louder. Everytime the tire makes 1 complete rotation it sqeeks.. I'm going in the morning to have it looked at.

I know my brakes are completely shot b/c they sqeek so im thinking that its metal rubbing against metal and that my brake pad is completely gone.

I looked just under the car to see if i had a bent axle or if anything looked lose / bent.. everything that i could see looked fine.

    Suggestions? Comments?

I'll let you guys know what it really was tomorrow morning.

well not a cracked rotor, it was rivved spaces in it b/c im like metal to metal here.

I think im going to get a brake job today. Borrowing the money from my parents before the rotor gets so bad that i have to buy a new one.

I got a similiar problem. My brakes squeek too yet I have no money and my parents refuse to replace the pads. Whenever we take it in they say "oh that's normal don't worry." What the hell is up with this? Why won't anyplace just say that the pads need replacing? Do they just not want to do it or something?

do it yourself and save some money... takes about half an hour... for 2 wheels (the hardest part is getting the car on jack stands

and, gall... just cause they squeel dont mean they are bad... take off your wheel, and actually look at the pad...

I bought the parts, they wanted 80 $ for 1 front rotor and 90 for the back, i needed 2 front and 1 back rotors. All 4 brake pads are virtualy gone, metal to metal.

I went to advance auto parts, bought 2 front rotors for 25$ a piece, and a back one for 61. I bought 4 aftermarket permium pads.

Payed them 80$ for labor. W/o buying my own parts = 652.

With buying my own parts.. like 250. Not bad.

They had to shave a little piece of .. something off b/c the rotor was a factory defect but i had been there for 5 hours waiting so im like look im not going to buy another rotor, so just do it.

Everything is great, no sqeeks at all, besides when i stop i can barly hear something (not a sqeek) for of a turning noise.. not even a whining, its so faint you can barly hear it coming from the right front tire, I'm going to let the pads brake in and if it continues take it back and have them fix it.
