  • Car won't start...?

I changed wires and plugs today...

    Taylor Spiro-Pro 8mm Spark Plug Wires, Red, 1995-99 3.8L V6 F-Body

    and

    NGK TR6 Spark Plugs, One Heat Range Colder than Stock, Pre-Gapped at .035";

    The car won't start now.

I need to double check on the firing order, but it goes like this...

From the driver side to front of car it goes 1 to 6, right to left, right?

I really don't know what the hell is wrong.

Sorry, here's a little more info. The battery is hooked up, I didn't disconnect it for the plugs. Anyways, the starter turns, the car might fire one or two times, but rarely. Are those wires good for a 2002 or are they only for up to 99?

I have intake, exhaust, headers... not that it should matter for this. Car ran fine before.

Make sure you routed the wires to the correct plugs.

Imagine you are looking from the front of the car back towards the rear.

              Engine is:

              6---5
              4---3
              2---1

              The coil is:
              1
              4
              5
              2
              3

Double check which wires go where. Sounds like you mixed up a few.

Why are you using the NGKTR6 plugs? Why are they gapped at .035?

That is a forced induction mod.
Your plugs don't need to be that cold...reducing power and gas mileage like that.

You should be using normal heat range plugs, normal gap with stock motor/stock internals, etc.

You shouldn't be getting any pre detonation with your current engine. gosh, if you have been maybe your state has funky gas additives? Maybe your getting bad fuel from your neighborhood gas station?
