I just bought a 94 Camaro manual with 3.4L. If i try to slam on the gas, it seems to have no power at all. Especially if I am around 3,000 rpm in 2nd gear and give it full throttle, the car seems as if it doesn't want to go anywhere. It just shakes and slowly accelerates. What could be wrong here? It has 167,000 miles. Thanx in advance. Teele.

Ok. I didn't know if there was something I had to get replaced. I'm gonna get new spark plugs and wires in the next week or so. I'm thinking about next summer getting a new engine, maybe even a 3.8 if it will fit. Will a 3.8 fit with slight modification? Thanx. Teele.

Hey dont bust on 3.4's. My 3.4 isn't the fastest car in the world but has decent acceleration from a 3.4 with almost 80k on it. A few mods would help such as full exhaust, intake, computer reprograming...etc. but more than likely with all those miles, a tuneup would give you the best results.1993 3.4
Borla rear section
3 inch Catco High Flow Cat
2.75 inch I pipe (Picked one up from an LT-1 guy for a whole $10)
K&N Fipk
180° T-stat
Jet Stage II
10 Spoke Z28 Wheels
NGK\'s, Taylor Spiros
Mobil 1 synthetic
Email Viper2@chesnet.net for 4th gen replacement parts.

Get used to it. Mine has 141,000 miles on it and it feels like that more and more often.
I've switched to Valvoline Max Life oil and it seems to have helped somewhat. You might wanna try that along with running a massive amount of Techron through it.

1500 are you crazy?
Why would one pay to have those put in...those are easy mods on a 3.4L should be like 500 or 600 tops
I know some are more advanced than others in their mechanical abilites, but i couldn't even change my own oil before i bought my camaro. that was 2 years ago, just last week i finished most of (still have ball joints to put in) a complete front end suspension rebuild. cost $500 bones for parts, but would have been at least 4 times that for parts and labor and that's on the low side.
This site and others like it are invaluable in helping a novice mechanic acquire the knowledge and confidence to attempt their own projects. Do your homework and you'll be glad you did it yourself. Not only do you save money, but it's an unmatched feeling of accomplishment when you get your car back together. Just my 2 cents.1993 Camaro 3.4L A4 many mods comin for 2004

\"The last thing I wanted was to get in a fight in Jackson, Mississippi on a Saturday night\"

Yeah, you're right about that, but I'm finding that more and more of us are not grease-monkeys. They just want to drive their f-bodies and there's nothing wrong with that. I learned how to repair cars in High School so I could always drive a Hot-Rod of some sort. In fact, I can repair just about anything, but now I can also afford to have someone else do it.\'94 Camaro 3.4
\"No, Starvin Marvin. That\'s my pot pie.\"

I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the point that most of us on here aren't grease monkeys. What's the point of posting questions about your vehicle if you're going to take it to the shop and have someone else do the work. I know that's a broad statement but generally it holds true. Most of the people come on here to gain knowledge and to share it so they don't have to pay someone else to do it. The minority of people that can afford to have everything they want done by someone else is probably a small number because someone with that much available $$$ would probably be tinkering with a vette instead of a camaro. I'd wager that most of us on this board do as much as we can ourselves, and leave the really tricky stuff to a professional mechanic. I'm not trying to be a harda$$, just making a point. And also, to each his own.1993 Camaro 3.4L A4 many mods comin for 2004

\"The last thing I wanted was to get in a fight in Jackson, Mississippi on a Saturday night\"

The gas at Chevron has techron in it. You can also buy it in a bottle at most parts houses. If mine starts running really badly I'll put a bottle in on top of a fillup at Chevron.

Ahh they're not so bad. The normal tune-up items and seafoam will help alot. If you take the air silencer off and cut the airbox so the entire front of the filter is showing it runs a little better (in my case anyways!). Get some throttle body cleaner and spray the hell out of the plenum, it gets very dirty in there.1995 Patriot Red T-Topped Z28 A4

Mystery rebuild in progress.

Soon to have 383 ways to beat KBreezy and Shane. :D

Flush the motor with any sort of stuff, whatever your nearest local store does.
Using Lucas oil stabilizer along with oil change helps.
CHange the o2 sensors.
Is it the original CAT? I am sure its pretty much old and clogged, If interesetd I might be selling my gutted stock CAT sometime soon. When I gutted it made a huge difference, mine was extremely clogged.
Maybe a TPS sensor? Could be sending the wrong voltage reading causing th car to run very rich or lean?
