poor idle on a third gen

Hi,

I been working on my sister's 90 3.1 liter RS camaro off and on for the past few months and have come up with a problem with the idle. The car won't stay at a constant rpm after it warms up and it has an intermittent buzzing sound out of the exhaust.
To date, I have done a complete top end rebuild, to fix a shot cam, in the process, had the injectors cleaned, got a new cap rotor and wires, a new crane compucam. That was 10,000 miles ago. We just replaced the fuel pump after the dealer sugested it. It didn't fix the problem.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be up?

Did you check the timming? If it is slightly off it could cause all kinds of "weird" stuff like your describing.

check all vaccum hoses, MAP sensor. at night see if you can see any arcing from the wires. any exhaust leak? also, when was the last time the fuel filter was changed? may also be an egr issue.

Check the throttle body. My '88 and my moms '91 always ran rough when the throttle body got dirty. Spray some throttle body cleaner in (engine off) and wipe clean.
