Im having problems with my heater. First of all the fan turns on but it puts out no heat. So I flushed out the lines going and coming to the heater core, still no heat. I also noticed that after sitting at idel for a few minutes with the heater on the hoses didnt feel warm at all. I then disconected the hoses and cranked the engine and sure enough the water pump was not pumping anything to the heater core lines. I dont have any overheating problems sowhat could it be? Anybody please help its getting cold!!!!

Something must be wrong with your heater core which could have failed without you realizing it. Otherwise their might be a problem with your water pump. Such as a clog to those specifc lines and such. I say take it in and have it checked out. Oh and be the way the 160 thermostat wouldn't be causing this. I know you said you have a 180 but somebody posted about it and they are wrong.

Sounds as if the thermostat is stuck in the closed position not allowing any water flow. Remove the thermostat and put it into some HOT water (about 200 deg) and see if it opens. This happened to my 1978 Camaro.

Now I would normally agree but he said that he didn't have any overheating problems so I don't think it has to do with the t-stat neccessarily. Its a possibility but I think that his heater/core lines are clogged or something is broken in the heater core.

I flushed the heater core lines out already, they seemed to flow ok.

nevermind I got it out. Allright new thermostats in. I started it up for a while got the tempeture up, and there IS water going to the heater core now, but still no heat! So it must be the heater core, right?

Still no heat?? I would guess that your heater core is clogged up. I would just replace it, being your going to pull it out anyway. Trying to blow the gunk out probably wouldn't work too well. It'll still buildup within time again.
