• Heater makes the engine rev up

I was sitting in a drive-thru about a half hour ago, and I turned on the heater to keep my from freezing . Anyway, after I turn the heat on, my tach starts to go up, and my engine starts revving up. Can anyone give me some ideas about what this could be?

That's perfectly normal. The heater is an accesory drive that needs the engine to be on to run. When turned on, the engines' computer increces RPM's to keep the engine at idle.
