adding a cat will not increase your backpressure , it will decrease your backpressure.
I also can't do very good burnouts in v6, my car right now is stock except for a flowmaster, I have to put my intake back on, that might have somethin to do with it.

Does your car have traction control?? It almost sounds like your trying to burnout with TCS on and its causing your RPM's to kick down and hesitate the engine. My 3.8 bird automatic has a traction control switch that I need to turn off before I can burn out. If I try with it on I get the same results that you described.
I heard that ill get a lot quicker times off the line, but lose a little horsepower, but the cat will give me back end pressure and back end tq so i could burnout...
Before exhaust leak fix: stalls @ 2000 while holding brake
After Exhaust leak fix: stalls @ 2500 sometimes while holding brake.
ok now lets start with saying...SEARCH.. then lets see you have a 98 which has 4 wheel disc brakes (same as mine) since you have this it is hard as crap to burn out unless you want to warp your rotors quicker. That is your main reason for not beig able too. Get into some water and you will be able to easier but again your rotors will warp much faster than normal. Second high flow cat and all that stuff will only help you be able to burn out if you know how too even if your cat is clogged it would still be hard due to the brakes. Your converter stall is what it stalls to in drive or overdrive not i park, that is a governor so you wont blow it up. If you want to just burnout and ruin your tires for show, invest in a line lock (search before you ask) that will save your rear brakes. And just to remind you, use the search button and READ everything related before posting.

It stalls in 1st / 2nd / Drive / OD when i hold down the brake. The reason I'm almost positive i dont have enough back pressure is because even when I hold the brake, rev it to 2500 rpm, and let go of the brake easily, and even all the way for that matter, my tires wont spin at all, and off the line its slower then my 3.4. I'm almost positive if i put a hi flow cat on i'd be able to.
One post gets locked so you post another one, rookies  I hope this gets locked to.

I'm actually 18 and planning on running my car @ Super Chevy Sunday, April 15-17..Thats the reason I would like to know why I cant burnout, It's going to look retarded at the track if I cant ;)
thanks again --
Torre...
I even tried revving it up to 2500 and letting go of the brake.. I still dont even spin the tires at all.. I'm realy clueless about what else to check, maybe ill take it in to a shop and ask them to checkout some stuff.
