THe car is deisgned to run on 87, unless you've tuned it differently. Put the right gas in and save a lot of money

i have the exact same prob on my car as the original poster. i have poured in injector cleaner, chked tire pressure multiple times, always filled it up with 93 octane, and havent ever even installed my 180 thermo! (also have 3.42's) yet i get about the same 220 to the tank no matter how i drive. my car is an 02....with just over 26k on it...wtf is up with this?? new it got right at 220, then with intake exhaust, it actually seemed to go down. only way i get awesome mileage is if i drive on the highway, and even then i only get about 260 sumn. i never let it get under "e" though, always fill it up right as its approaching it...i wish i got better mpg, because this is ridiculous :(
u get 220 per "tank". How many gallons is this supposed "tank" usage? How many gallons do you usually put in after running 220 miles? 10?

I've been getting about 300 miles per 15gallon tank since i bought it brand new in 2000. I use premium gas too. The only time it got bad was when i had one back left tire underinflated for a bit this winter, i was getting 220 ish. but as soon as i got the tire fix, back to 300. i know ... so drastic ... but all goood now

Well... for premium gas... I actually LOST gas milage, I got about 340 to Shells VPower Premium when my average is about 360 now on regular unleaded...

Try seafoaming your car, clean out your TB, change rearend oil... All of those increased my gas milage... If you once overfilled your oil you might find it spit oil into the intake... Not cool and DEFINATELY decreased my gas milage as the car couldn't breathe properly...

I run 35 up front, 32 in the rear, I heard that puts more weight on the rear wheels, more weight on the rear means better traction... better traction means better gas milage...
