? about dimmer switch install

posted a few weeks ago about fuse blowing for instrument lights. was told that it may be the dimmer switch. does the switch i need to buy have the wheel on it because i went to napa and asked for a dimmer switch for a 93 chevrolet camaro and they gave me a "plug" that is on a 4" x 1.5" metal bracket that cost $10 and called "switch interruptor DS125SB" and i dont know where it would go. Autozone said the part i wanted was $20 and discount said it was $10 both didnt have it in stock. Also how do i get the black plastic off around the instrument panel got the screws off of the bottom but it seems stuck on the top where it meets the dash and i dont know how to get the dash off. I also have a haynes repair manual.

hmm so when your fuse blew, which fuse was it?

my IP dimmer fuse blew, and my shifter light, as well as the gauge lights went out. maybe i have the same problem??

i think i have a short somewhere though, cuz when i replace the 5 amp fuse for the dimmer it just keeps blowing the fuse..

I had a problem with my IP lights and it turned out to be the dimmer switch, which is the little wheel that dims the lights when you move it up and down. It cost me 35 bucks from PeP- boys
