  • Put 180 deg thermo stat in still runs over 210

I changed my stock thermo to a 180 deg and still reading over 210 when car warms up. Is this normal or will old coolant make the car run warmer. I have the factory original coolant in my car and I have 67,000 miles on the car and I was thinking about getting the cooling system flushed and refilled. Will this make my car run a little cooler?

I am also not sure about what degree thermo I had stock in my 2002, I have heard 195 and 180 can someone clarify this for me. I also saw during my search someone said the 01 and 02 cars need reprograming for the cooler thermo. I this correct?

if you are sitting at idle in the summer then your car will still reach 210 before the fans kick into high gear and bring the temp back down, if you don't want the car going much over 190 or so you gotta get the fans reprogrammed.
