Doubt it would either, I boil and overflow my power steering alot and it has never made my pulley slide off. Check your tensionor, can you push it down with just your hand?

And are you sure your intake is leaking antifreeze?

Its not impossible but never heard of it as a problem. Did your relative with 4 camaros tell you that?

I've had my belt fall off when my antifreeze overflowed all over the belt. It's definately possible for that to happen. but I would say, but the belt back on, charge the battery and have the alternator checked at the auto store. You might not need a new alternator. YOur battery discharged b/c the alternator wasn't working b/c the belt wasn't on. So... just double check to make sure you need the new alternator before you shell out the cash to have it replaced.

We're talking about the serpentine belt, not a timing belt.

</font>[/QUOTE]hey man a belt is a belt, ha ha i was thinkin the same thing

are you sure its not your water pump. I thought it was an intake gasket too so i tightened up the little fitting below the TB and everything is fine and dandy. i was thinking awe, crap but it stopped.

still think its kinda dumb to have a problem with your car and beat the hell out of it. 120 on our cars is pretty extreme as far as beating on that engine. if something is wrong with your car baby it till its fixed. its only a few days.

oh yeah the alternator can be changed in less time it takes to go #2. get a 13mm, 10mm(i think), a 15mm, and a pair of plyers.

disconnect battery, pull belt off, remove three bolts, disconnect a plug and a wire that is held on with a nut and do it all again. but, you dont need to change it so good for you.

oh yeah, the belt can be replaced in like 60 seconds. get a 15mm or 13mm socket and your good togo.

              good luck wiht every thing.
