HELP!!!!!

car is completely dead..i got home and it was just fine..i went out to start it up again..nothing..no gauge lights..no clicking..nothing..already tried jumping..the car has power..the alarm works and it beeps if i leave the key in and the door open..other than that..its completely dead...HELP!!!

Check battery, battery corrosion, battery terminals. What works and what doesn't. Try jumping the starter solenoid, ckeck fuses. More info please...

i tried jumping and checked every single fuse and battery terminals..the stereo doesnt light up like it usually does..when i turn the key back towards me nothing happens..when i lock it and unlock it the lights flash..and the door chime works..but thats it..when i turn the key forward it just goes quiet..no clicking..nothing..how do i jump the starter solenoid?..what do you mean by vats and spare?

Measure the bat voltage with a meter. Check it with ign off, and again while trying to start.

EDIT -- when i hit the alarm the interior lights come on..and the fog lights and signal lights flash like they're supposed to..i'll look at the battery again..but still completely nothing

the vats, shouldnt matter if certain things dont work. he means the chip on your key might of went bad. try another key it might work.

god damnit..i only have one key to the car..will a key made at home depot or something work or does it HAVE to have a chip?

any ideas??..i've never even run in to a problem like this that a jump wouldnt take care of..and i went to start it again JUST after i got home..so i highly doubt the battery is dead anyway

ok..everything works thats supposed to work when the car is off..head lights, brake lights, alarm, etc..but nothing works thats supposed to when the key is in the run position..the battery obviously has power..the starter would come later because i should at least get gauges in the run position..i think its the ignition cylinder..what do ya think?

If you were to check the battery while turning the key, you would know if it's really trying to start. ;)

i dont have a voltage meter..but im not even getting that far anyway..things that are supposed to work in "run" dont even work

Hey check your ignition switch and the large fuses feeding the main componets located in the engine bay left drive side with the 4 gauge wire comming in the box. Also check the supply side of the ignition switch and main grounding wires and corrosion on the battery terminal. Vats would allow everything to work except the ignition to start the car, all lights and console would light up, also vats security light would be lit if there was a vats problem.
