    theres no corrosion there..i dont know how to tell if the huge fuses are bad cuz they're just sealed metal..i dont get a security light because i dont get anything in the "run" position..im pulling the wheel now to see if theres something wrong with the ignition cylinder..but how do you know if the vats are bad??

      GET A NEW BATTERY!!!!!! It prob does not have enough amps to start the car, but will work everything else. I had the same problem.

        but i should at least hear the starter clicking and trying to start it..its nothing but dead silence..plus like i said..i get nothing in the "run" or "accesory" positions..my fiance has night school tonight so i dont have another car..so its getting towed tonight..and will be at the shop tomorrow :(

          That will happen if the battery is really low.

          I think you need to go to the store and get a $20 multi meter and check the bat.

          Either that, or just take the bat down to a parts store and have them load test it. Please at least do this before removing the whole ignition cylinder.

            Vote #2 for ignition switch. You have to drop the steering column to get @ it and it's a ***** to get out if you don't have some tiny *** hands because of the angles and small screws. Make sure you mark where the current one is and put the new one in the exact same spot or else you might end up with the car on even when there is no key in. The part was pretty cheap from Auto Zone. Less than $20 I think.

              the reason i think its the ignition is because i had the jumpers hooked up to my car from my fiance's car for a while and still got nothing..and i only went to go start it again RIGHT after i got home..and i cant do anything now cuz my fiance's at night school..but im definitely gonna pick up a volt meter next time im over there

              i have a momo racing wheel and its REALLY easy to get off..so i took it off and looked at the column..then looked at the manual to see what i had to do and was like..umm..f*ck that lol

              my fiance has AAA so we get free towing..so its gonna get towed..im gonna call them tomorrow morning and ask them to test the battery first..otherwise if its the starter or ignition cylinder i should have it back tomorrow night ready to race this weekend

                I hope that when you tried to jump the car that you didn't get the polarity wrong, thats a nice costly mistake. Anyway, does your stereo come on, wipers work, is the engine turning over at all?

                  If it is the ignition switch, its a cheap part at only 10.99 @ autozone, check and load test the battery, then pull the starter and try running it off of your car battery make sure is spins freely, then check that switch and make sure you have power on it. With the ignition switch out you should be able to manually start your car with it by sliding it to the end.

                    nahh i had the polarity right..i imagine that would be a costly repair lol..its at the shop now..it was towed last night..im hoping its the ignition switch and not the starter..cuz like you said..its cheap..thanks for the help guys..its just nothing i could really do..i'll post what the problem ends up being [img]smile.gif[/img]

                      well they found the problem with my car..theres an 80 amp fuse that controls one of the main fuse boxes under the hood..one of those sealed metal ones that i dont know how you tell if they're blown..apparently i somehow blew it because they found it and put a new one in and everything is cool..all i know is it probably took a LOT of power to blow an 80 amp fuse..me and wire work dont usually have fun together..i pick it up in an hour..so if the storms stay away long enough this weekend hopefully i'll be able to race [img]smile.gif[/img]
