  • STUPID STUPID CAR!!!

    Ok...it all started yesterday.

It was raining quite heavy and I went and got my tires put on...after leaving I went to Wal-Mart and then started home. On the way my car kept backfiring when I pushed in the pedal to accelerate. Now I went to drive it today and it's doing the same thing so I went out on a back road and figured if I could get it going faster it might fix the problem. Well I took it out and while on the back road it backfired at least 10 times and twice after it backfired my SES started blinking...and then when pulling into my parking lot my idle went up by like 500 RPMS. Anyone got a clue WTF this could be?

I had the same problem but my solution cost a lot more than a coil pack. The problem was the ICM. $220 from Napa.

SOmething with the coil packs, probably just one went bad.

And did you actually ask if getting the code scanned would help?

coil pack, my guess. Happened to me twice. easy to fix DIY.
