    I just changed...

    battery - 1 month ago

    alternator - 3 weeks ago

alternator turned out bad cause the car would be completely dead after sitting for 2 days w/o start up.

Changed alternator again..worked great for a week...then go to star up the bird after 2 days of sitting in the cold and it will not start..needed to jump it again!!!!

I never went a day w/o starting the bird ever...but now i have my winter car that i drive to work and the bird just sits there.. is there something wrong w/ car or am i doing something wrong??

if you KNOW for sure that the alternator is good... then somthing you have inside the car is draining the battery... phone charger.. alarms have known to do this if not wired right... anything.... otherwise the diode could be bad in the alternator and draining th battery instead blocking it from draining when not on.

One test I did when suffering from a similar issue was to jumpstart the car, drive it for a while, and then park it. Then check the battery voltage with a voltmeter(not the dash indicator), right after shutting it off to see if it looks good for a charged battery. Disconnect the battery cables from the battery and let it sit overnight. Do this to isolate the battery from the car. This eliminates the possibility of a short in the car wiring draining the battery. If the voltage is good after driving, but it'd drained when you reconnect the battery in the morning, then you have a bad battery. That was my problem, a bad cell in the battery will act like an internal short and will drain the battery. If I drove for a while, stopped, and then tried to restart the car within an hour or two, it started fine. But when I left the car over night it would be dead. Try that to atleast rull out a faulty battery as the culprit.

i could give that a shot...i should have mentioned this before. I noticed when i let me car sit, the interior light looked really dim when i opened the door..i was hammered so i could'nt really tell...i have a clifford alrm that is always blinking....well that nite it was blinking, but the next morning i noticed it was not blinking...meaning the car was completely dead.

        thanks for the input
