• Just got my 84 carbed v6

Hey,
I just got my 84 camaro. No it's not a v8 or a 350 at that. Just a plan old carborated v6 that sounds really good and not just because it has a hole in the muffler either....lol. Well it's runnin a little rich but that's cause it hasn't been run in a while. There's no rust of even any bondo car has never been wrecked. Best of all I only paid 350.00 for it. Well my mom did anyway. Do any of you guys have any suggestions on what to do next ? I asked this same question at camaroz28.com andI just got flammed to go to a 350 v8 but That's not at all what I wanna do. Any other suggestions my fellow V6 drivers ?

Sorry dude but I have to agree, If i had a 84 Camaro with a Carbed V6 I would definatly do a V8 swap. Unless you dont want to go fast then you can do lots of other stuff. But I dont think a 84 Carb V6 has potential to go very fast.

Yeah,

Well right now my funds are LOW so I wont be doing any kind of swap till I get money. And yes the 84 carbed does have potential as a matter a fact there was a su[er charegr made for it not to long ago. NOt o menchin the **** load of n2 you can shoot in it...lol

I also just bought an 84 V6 M5. But it came with an Edelbrock Intake Manifold, Holly 4 Barrel Carburetor, Street Cam, Headers and he machined the cylinders larger (I don’t know how much larger though).

It is defiantly faster than my 1994 3.4L (Not as fast as my LT1 though )

for all the work you'd do for those mods, might as well stuff it in a 3.4 block ;)

you can also get one of those foegel superchargers for the carbed V6

and you also got 3.42 gears in the rear.

Yeah thanks,

I know what to do when I get a car of that age. the thing is the guy I bought it from was restoring it for his wife. So alot of what you are telling me to do has either already been done or I know when I'm gonna do it. I have a list of what to do and when I'm going to do it. Right now I'm in the middle of installing the ignition switch and a new lock cylinder. Not bad for a 15 year old eh ? Of course I have older hotrodding guys who are helping me as I go along to make sure I don't screw up to terribly.

Thanks,

Ok so it hit me finnally today my 84 v6 camaro needs work not to bad on the engine stuff. But the engine needs work especially before it's back to it's prime. So I ran some numbers and finnally realize for all of what I was planning to do with the carbed v6 I coulda completed a 350 in the same amout of time for a fraction of the cost. At the smae time get a even larger hp gain. So here's my question cna you guys tell me speciaficlly what I need to buy to do the swap and some ruff numbers as to what the total swap will cost being it that I'm doing alot if not all of teh work myself. Well not absalutely by my-self my friends dad aka 60something year old hotrod god is gonna help me a little along the way. But before I even turn a wrench I need to write out what it is I'm doing what order to do it in and how much it will cost. Can you guys help me out in anyway ?
