I need help ASAP Please

Ok i just got home and i turned down the radio to hear a ticking noise coming from the motor part just.. I rev it up a little and it's gone then when it's back to idleing i hear it again.. so then i pop the hood open and look to see where it's coming from. It's coming from the driverside sound's like it's near the valve cover but under neath the car it's louder. Can somebody please help me before i pull out the shotgun and put a few slug's into it!?!?!?!?!?

thats funny, i just got my 97 bird about 3 weeks ago and have noticed about 3 differnt weird noises that dont sound right to me. one of them is what you are describing. also happens to me if im going down the highway without my foot on the gas. if i push on the gas it goes away. these f-bodies make all kinds of weird sounds dont they -

im getting my oil changed this weekend, no idea when it was last changed :( . hopefully that will help

I changed my oil not to long ago.. not even a month and not even a 1000 mile's yet. It just like started out of nowhere and really made me mad. Also i change the oil filter everytime i change the oil so i don't know.. im going to check the oil pressure right now!

Ok i just checked it and it was not there for 10 second's and then it was back then i slowly got it up to 2k and very light noise and then 3k and it was gone then i went back to idle and it was gone and then came back very slowly and could hardly hear it... what do you guy's think?

Oh yeah ps the oil pressure is fine.. it's over half way and when i give gas it shoot's up.. or is that good or bad?

Also ,get a stethoscope, (or a long piece of vacumm line to your ear) and listen where you think the noise may be coming from. Very easy to isolate noise this way. It may just be injector noise, which is normal.Put your listening device directly on the valve cover to check valve train noise, on the fuel rail for injector noise and so on and so forth....

I just looked at my oil.. (this is v6firebirdpride over at a freind's) and it show's to a quart low... i guess i didn't fill it full enough lmfao... so im going to go get some oil and see what happen's... im hoping that's the problem.. if not.. then i am going to be very very mad! :mad: :mad: :mad:

Well i put it in but spilled a little oil on the motor and started smoking a little... but now it's almost full.. so woohoo right... maybe it shall stop but ill post again tonight if it's still doing it... and i swear i hope it's not the rocker's or anything i mean i don't race but maybe 1 time everyweekend sometime's not even that and i don't drive like a retard like alot of kid's do in town and redline it every shift... i shift around 3k and it only has 46k and i really hope nothing major is messedup
