car vibrates: new motor mounts or pipe hitting frame?

after the header install, i took the car to an exhaust shop to hook up the y-pipe to the exhaust. the extension pipe that connects the driver side header to the y-pipe wouldn't fit and he suggested new motor mounts hoping it would raise the motor enough to allow the pipe to fit. after he installed everything it still doesn't seal up and the car vibrates real bad.

i have an auto and when i shift into reverse or drive the car usually shakes. it's only when i'm at idle b/c when i give it gas the vibration goes away. would new motor mounts cause the car to vibrate like this or is the pipe hitting the frame? i'm going in tomorrow to get the headers welded to the y-pipe and i wanted to know if i need them to move the pipe out. here are pics of the y-pipe.

I'm going to go the easy route and say its a combo of both.

The motor mounts I'm sure are adding to it. But chances are the pipe is doing its fair share also. Best bet would be to correct the pipe problem and then see how things go from there.

How do you go about adjusting the pipe for something like that? My car has the same problem.

i'm going to see if he can weld on an extention to bring the pipe out more.

i really doubt its your motor mounts.. that pipe looks really close to the frame. have him check ur mounts just in case tho..

i have that same vibration but no headers. vibrates at idle only also. Fudgein car.

if the vibration just started after the header install then i doubt this is the problem but i had the same vibration while in idle. my problem turned out to be a bad harmonic balancer. i was also leaking a little oil for a few months and thought it was coming from the front side of the oil pan (oil was around the bolts on the front side of the pan). after i replaced HB vibration and leaky oil went away. just a suggestion.
