  • What mods should I get?

Hey, I have a 1995 3.8L Camaro with 33k miles on it, I'm wondering what would be a good way to get better mpg and more hp from it for under $1000. I was thinking a cold air intake kit would be a good thing. What about a new exhaust? So far my only "mod" of any sorts has been these cool headlight covers. So overall I just want to know what are some good mods to do to my car to help it get better gas mileage and more torque. How much hp is gained by just a cold air intake kit?

maybe about 5 hp without opening up the exhaust at the same time... an intake is a good "starter" mod though.

I dunno, it will really depend on your driving habits what kind of Mileage you get.

If I take it easy on my car, I with a 60/40 Highway/City driving, I can get around 300-350 miles to the tank.

I dunno, on average I can get between 20-25 mpg. With more Highway I've done a bit better than 30mpg also.

So far Ive just done Intake upgrades, custom whisper lid from stock, smooth bellow, removed MAF Screen and a K&N. I go from houston to dallas alot and I get to dallas and still have slightly under half a tank or right about 1/4 left. The distance is 220 miles.

Do your own custom fab intake, imo, I'm starting mine tonight. Maybe ~ $35

Catback ~ $270ish Flowmaster up to $600 for Borla
(I'd go with flowmaster, some people don't
like the tone it gives, but you could
                change mufflers later on)

If you did go with flowmaster you've got roughly $700 left, then you could either get a rim/tire combo, or get the new dhp tunning device to really get the most hp out of the engine.
                Thats what I'd do.
