  • Centerforce Vs Ram Clutch . . . or ??

Okay, bad news . . . I came home from the track just the other night and noticed something slightly different about my car . .. ACK! no full throttle acceleration . . . due to a slipping clutch.

I'm looking for some suggestions or opinions, as there seems to be conflicting data on what works well. (for a 98 3.8 . . . with "some mods", and yes, I race it!)

Centerforce Dual-Friction . . . maybe something from Ram Clutches . . . or recently I've found "Star Performance Engineered Clutches" (SPEC) . . . or is there something else out there?

**Oh gods of the 5spd 3.8 . . . please enlighten me with your wisdom.**

    Path.

I had a Centerforce in mine and recently switched to a SPEC Stage 3. The SPEC Stage 3 can handle over 600 HP so I am pretty sure that it will be efficient for my power.

I have a Spec Stage II and like it a lot. The Stage II is supposed to the be longest lasting of the series but if I was to go back I think I would have bought the Stage III

If you want more detailed info, you can email Dave at starclutch@mindspring.com for any questions.

The customer service at SPEC is incredible, Dave was very knowledgeable and went out of his way to answer all of my questions in depth. I ordered my clutch directly through him and it was at my door in 2 days. The clutch was packaged great and looked awsome. I would recommend this company to anyone.
