This is a general window question about a Grand Am, so it can get moved to wherever, but I only trust the people at "www.camarov6.com" so here goes: I have to replace the regulator and all the associated stuff, but the window is all the way up. The things I've heard are that I have to get the window down a little bit to access some channel bolts, and (according to Haynes) ". . .with temporary power to the window motor. . .". Well, if the window motor is shot (it is, 'cuz I checked connections and power to the motor with a test light), how am I supposed to get the window down? Don't they think of stuff like this?

You will probably have to drill out the old rivets holding the motor on, disconnect it from the window track, then move the window in the "up" position. Get a large C-Clamp to hold the window up, then go to work.
