i saw this on zzperformance, essentially they drill a couple small holes in your thermo to allow a small amount of coolant to flow always, says that it keeps it cooler that way, is there any merit to this...

well, it will work, i mean coolant will flow through and it will stay relatively cooler. i would imagine that a 160 degree thermo would be just as good though.

they make a drilled 160 thermo, its 11 bucks, and i was wondering if its worth it, or stick with the 160 thermo...Pain heals, chicks dig scars, and glory is forever.

------------------------------
1997 Red Firebird with T Tops
Custom 3\" cold air intake
K and N filter
!maf
flowmaster 80 series catback
Accel 8.8 300+ spiral ferro wires
Bosch 2X platinum +4 \'s

i would say just stick with the 160, my car has a hard enough time warming up in the winter with just the 160. i don't think it ever would drilled.

In a cooler state, stick with a non drilled tstat. We had a big debate on our forums over drilled tstats. Alot of people suprisingly said that it was a waste.1999 Grand Prix GT

www.fishsgt.com

Best ET: 14.94@91.25MPH with a 2.2 60\"

At the most 10 minutes. Not that hard at all. Make sure to bleed your system by unnscrewing the top part of the housing to let all the air out.(I forgot what it is called. Alot of the older trucks and such drill a small hole in their t-stat to ensure that any little air pocket can escape and get to the high point in the system, also to ensure a little flow if it gets stuck. Not a bad idea IMO.www.fullthrottlev6.com THE SOURCE!

or you could drill your own like I did?
160 is too cold, in my opinion.
I have a 180, works perfectly at 180.Sinister Six©
My \'95 Bird
I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.

i put the 160* thermo in my car and it is by far the best mod yet. it gives you that cold power all the time. I dont know about you but my car seemed to loose a lot of power when it heated up. it is really easy to do. remove the egr tube bolt and bend the pipe out the way then take out the two thermostat housing bolts take old one out and put new one in put it back together. takes like 5 min. i dont remember the sizes of the bolts. ummm maybe 14 0r 15mm i dont know. It is really easy though and a great mod.good luck.white 1996 camaro 3800: flowmaster American thunder cat back. hypertech 160* stat, and manual fan switch
