  • Vacuum leak?

hey guys. Let me begin by saying that i have done an endless number of searches that have come just short of answering my question. In addition, I brought my car to Pep Boys (mistake) and they jacked the car on the fender and completely broke the mount! Even worse, they gave me some BS list of repairs including fuel filter (did this 2k miles ago), Map Sensor?, and o2 sensors. Now onto my problem. For the last 30k miles now, my car has been having RPM surges while hardly giving the car gas. This happens most frequently when the car has just upshifted. Another issue would be that when the car is 1st gear and idling (not using gas pedal) it will stick as 1k rpms which i feel is a little high. My car is a 3.8L A4 with 77k miles and i have changed plugs, wires and fuel filter just to try and solve this problem. After reading various posts somewhat related to my problem i have come to the conclusion that i have a vacuum leak. I have no SES light on so i have ruled out EGR valve and o2 sensors. Any help or input on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Even a diagram of the vacuum lines would be nice because that little sticker under the hood doesn't cut it for me. Thanks!

umm ok to the right of the PCM you should have a T vac line ther eshoul be 4 things on it i belieav the the map sensor ( one in the back of the intake) should have 2 off of it, one goes to the t buy the PCM. one goes forward to next vacum thing behing the alt....... on my 1997 it has one from that into the TB and on one of the 2 is just open into the air. also there is one vacum to one of the tube buy the fuel lines... and then the brake booster...
