• Power Window problems

It is on its way out. It will go half way, stop, go a little farther 5 minutes later, stop, and so on. Is there a quick fix for this, or should it just be replaced? Anyone got one to get rid of for cheap?

Sounds like your motor is on its way out.
One question though: when the window DOES go up a little, is it going full speed or is it slow?

If it's full speed, it may be an electrical problem. (Switch, wire, connector on the motor, or the motor itself)

If it's slow, It's most likely the motor.

If you feel competent enough to do the repairs yourself, It's not that difficult.

Do a search for "window motor" (no quotes) and that will tell you how.

If you get your door panel off and the tracks look all gunky, you may need to clean those as well. You should be able to get some grease from Pep Boys or wherever. DONT use regular grease or oil... it will disolve the plastic parts on the window rider.

Good Luck!

Dont feel like the LOne Ranger its happened to a lot of us. Replace the motor. Go to Autozone or somewhere. Its too expensive for the dealer.

I had the same problem.
Got the motor replaced for $150. Shop around a little, cause every place has different prices. But spend the money, it's really worthy it; especially when you have a drunken friend ready to throw up while driving on the freeway....

right on....I am going to call a few parts stores, and a few salvage yards, see what I can find. I will do the repair myself...I just got a house with a garage, my first chance to use it! Thanx for the tips.
