  • Bad Oil Leak!

Vehicle is a 94 3.4 liter 138k. Well what the deal is that it leaks oil like mad, i cant find where it coming from i think its coming from the back bottom of the engine but yet i cant see the dam leak.

It drives me crazy BC this is suppose to be my weekend car yet i turn it on and your sitting down in the car it smells like burning oil.

The drip is a constant drip...drip...drip about every second or so, i put in half a quart of oil and left it running for a few min when i backed up all the half quart was in a puddle on my driveway!

Can any one help me out? Engine was rebuilt when it has 117k so it has about 21k miles on the new engine.

hmmm oh ok i see, im not too familiar when it comes to engines.

I was thinking that but i taught it was mostly a problem on the 3.8's

Yeah that's mostly 3.8s, but I wouldn't discount it from being your prob.

My rear main leaked on my 3.4L and it leaked right into the tranny and the mix of oil and tranny fluid burned up my clutch... Go figure. So... I'd recommend fixing it ;) but yeah, it sounds like your rear main.

damn that sucks for you guys. so far no major leaks, just find some around the steering pump area. only a few drops every oil change i believe nothing serious.

maybe after its rebiuld a gasket didnt sit right. diffently check the gaskets. hope it nothing you cant do yourself, goodluck.

                    mine too, rear main seal...
drop driveshaft, tranny, k-member, and flywheel.
                    cant miss it.
if you have an auto, you can take off the inspection cover of the tranny and check it there, maybe clarify if it is infact the rear main
I will take on all comers...or come on all takers!!! Whichever you prefer.

ive been rated 300 to fix the rear main seal

but ive heard of ppl getting charged up to 800 to get it fixed...if your mechanically inclined, you might wanna fix this yourself...a weekend job
